LISBON, Portugal (June 25, 2026) — The spirit of sportsmanship, leadership, and community was on full display as Legends Shooting for Peace hosted an inspiring youth basketball clinic at the historic Tapadinha Facility in Lisbon, Portugal. Led by AAU Global Ambassador and NBA Legend Jerome “Junk Yard Dog” Williams, the event brought together young athletes, families, and community members for a day focused on basketball fundamentals, mentorship, and positive life lessons.

Known for his energetic and engaging “Boot Camp” teaching style, Williams guided participants through skill development drills while emphasizing teamwork, discipline, confidence, and perseverance. His hands-on coaching approach kept young athletes engaged throughout the day while creating lasting memories both on and off the court.

Joining Williams were Shooting for Peace Global Youth Ambassadors Jeremiah “DADOG” Williams, Carter “Wiggle” Brooks, Malik Ballard, and Ngenzi Rugaba, who worked alongside campers throughout the clinic. The four youth leaders demonstrated basketball fundamentals, encouraged participants, and served as positive role models, leaving children smiling from ear to ear.

The Tapadinha Facility was filled with parents, spectators, and basketball enthusiasts who witnessed firsthand the impact of the Shooting for Peace mission. Following the clinic, Williams continued his community engagement by signing autographs and meeting with fans, serving a “double shift” as both Camp Director and ambassador for the game.

“This is what Shooting for Peace is all about,” said Williams. “Basketball is simply the vehicle. Our true mission is to inspire young people, build confidence, develop leaders, and create opportunities that extend far beyond the court. Watching our Global Youth Ambassadors lead and serve alongside us is exactly how we continue building the next generation of leaders.”

The Lisbon clinic is part of Shooting for Peace’s growing international initiative to unite communities through sports, education, mentorship, financial literacy, and leadership development. By connecting professional athletes with youth around the world, the organization continues creating meaningful experiences that empower the next generation to succeed both in athletics and in life.
