ORLANDO, Fla. (May 5, 2026) – The Greater Orlando Sports Commission (GO Sports) have announced the finalists for this year’s SPORTYS awards. The Amateur Athletic Union has representation in two categories for this year’s awards.
AAU President Jo Mirza has been named a finalist in the Executive of the Year category. He joins executives from Orlando based teams such as Orlando City FC/Orlando Pride, Rollins College and the University of Central Florida (UCF), and other Orlando based sports organizations such as United States Tennis Association (USTA), Orlando Sports Foundation, and more. This year sees 10 total finalists in the Executive of the Year category.
“Thank you to the Greater Orlando Sports Commission for this incredible honor,” said AAU President Jo Mirza. “Being able to work hand-in-hand with Greater Orlando Sports and bring opportunities to young athletes is truly special. The AAU will continue to call Orlando our home.”
Beyond Executive of the Year, there are 10 SPORTY Awards recognizing contributions from across the Orlando sports industry. Sixty-five (65) finalists representing 31 organizations have been revealed.
Among those finalists, AAU Marketing Manager, Troy MacNeill, has also been named a finalist. He is up for the Best in Media, Communications & Public Relations award this year. Finalists were selected by a voting committee made up of members of the GO Sports board of directors.

The 2026 SPORTYS will stream online at WKMG-TV News 6’s ClickOrlando.com on Wednesday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. with the winners being revealed during the broadcast.
